Hi Everyone! Some of you may have read my previous post about our upcoming move to Florida (you can read more here). The builders began construction this week and we are getting super excited! YAY!
While we were in Florida, we did a lot of window shopping for how we want to decorate. We are thinking about a Spanish/Mediterranean theme. We had so much fun looking around and dreaming. These are not all necessarily things we will end up getting, but just some of the favorites we found. Come dream with me…
First stop, rugs…I think I found most of these at “Rooms to Go,” they also have a scratch and dent room where you can find some good deals. The colors I am thinking of are turquoise, rust and mustard yellow, mixed in with warm browns and multi-colored woods.
For the living room I want an L-shaped couch, I really liked some of the lighter colored couches, but let’s face it…I have three BOYS! Probably end up going with a dark leather that wipes off easily…but a girl can dream can’t she?
These last two above are more of a beach type theme, but being in Florida it was really hard not to get swept up in that…beach stuff everywhere, but I am not complaining, I could REALLY get used to that!
Most of the wooden items we liked are a darker wood or a multi-colored wood. We found one brand we really loved that had a bar level table, a serving cabinet, a coffee table and nesting tables. I think these were all at “Kanes Furniture Store.”
On to dishes…I love lots of color for dishes and to mix and match, but this day I was really drawn to turquoise dishes, so pretty!
And I am not sure I really love these dishes, but I do like the “Florida-ness” of them. Palm trees and pineapples, yes please!
In our guest room I have lots of plans for blue and white toile! I didn’t find any good toile comforters the day we were out, but I did find some possible bed sets that would be fun…
I think this one is super fun with the drawers underneath, great space saver!
And lastly, a couple unique cabinets we found…
I think I took about a million more pictures on our window shopping adventure, but these are some of my favorites. Stay tuned early 2013 to see how we actually end up furnishing…who knows? Sure is fun dreaming though!
