Quick and Easy Bean Dip

Sep 10, 2012 Categories: Food and Recipes

A quick and easy recipe for game day!  I have been making this recipe for years now.  It is my “go-to” recipe when I am asked to bring an appetizer or dish to pass.  Many have asked how to make it and I almost hate to give away my secret as to how EASY it is…but here you go!

Ingredients:  (May want to double)

1 can Black beans

1 can Pinto beans

1 can corn

16 oz salsa

Seasonings: Cumin, Garlic Salt, Onion Salt, Red Pepper (crushed or ground)

The seasonings are all to taste, so more or less on how spicy or flavorful you want…beware of too much Red Pepper though…I’ve made that mistake before!  YOW!

Directions: Drain and rinse beans.  Dump all canned ingredients into a large pan.

Stir together and add seasonings to taste.  Bring to a boil and then reduce heat and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.  Stir every few minutes so it doesn’t burn to the bottom of the pan.  Can also be cooked and kept warm in the crockpot for a party or gathering.  And that’s it!  I told you it was easy and now you all know my secret!

This Bean Dip is great served over rice or with tortilla chips, sometimes I serve it with tacos or maybe add some cheese.  Lots of possibilities for an easy recipe, ENJOY!
