Every Saturday we have a family tradition of walking at a nearby forest preserve…even in the skin melting Florida summer humidity! The boys have come to expect it and ask about it throughout the week, “Is is Saturday yet?” The first time we went walking there, the boys complained about how tired and hungry they were, so the next time I brought the wagon, snacks and lots of WATER to cure all of the grumpiness and they have loved it ever since.
Unfortunately…the mosquitos have also loved that we come there every week! I am not at all a fan of the long list of unpronounceable ingredients on most store-bought bug sprays, so we needed to come up with our own effective solution. Well, last weekend we tested out our recipe and NOT ONE of us came home with mosquito bites, YAY! And we didn’t spend our whole time saying, “Keep moving! The bugs are swarming!!”
I love how simple the recipe is to put together and you will too!
2 ounces Filtered Water
2 ounces Witch Hazel
10-15 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
10-15 drops Lavender Essential Oil
Ready? It’s too easy…I used a 4 ounce spray bottle. Fill half with filtered water, half with witch hazel. Add essential oils and that’s it! Shake well and you’re ready to go! Safe for kids too! Spray all over body especially neck and ankles (at least that’s where mosquitos always get me!) avoiding the eye area.
Have you tried any bug repellant recipes that have worked for you? Please share! :-)
Anyone else get a “Rainbow Loom” for Christmas? My son bought one for himself in November and then was very pleased to get hundreds of rubber bands for Christmas. He has not stopped creating bracelets/rings/necklaces for weeks now! He has watched several videos on “YouTube” and really wanted to make one of his own. He did an awesome job! Here is detailed, step-by-step tutorial on his version of the “Triple Single!”
What is your favorite Rainbow Loom Bracelet? Blessings! ~Kelly

You do not want to miss this! My friend and Project Dream business partner, Jaima will be hosting a free webinar on How to Survive the Holidays while maintaining your health and balance.
Here is what she says about the webinar….
“ Are you stressing about the holidays? Is it a busy time or calm time for you? It’s a little bit of both for me, since we lost my mom and brother at Christmas four years ago.
But let’s face it, the holidays (whether you celebrate or not), should be a chance for everyone to slow down, to savor the time with family, and make lasting memories. But for most of us, it’s a race against the clock to make sure all the gifts are bought, the cookies are baked, the party invitations are sent, memories are made, and there is little time to kick back by the fire and cuddle up with your family. But what if we could meet in the middle and create balance for the two?!
If “meeting in the middle” sounds good to you, then join me Monday night, November 18th. I will be sharing my tips for surviving the holidays while maintaining balance and health! Sounds like a win-win to me!
I will be sharing how to plan ahead to reduce stress and create balance. How you can get a jump-start on your New Year’s goal and maintain or even lose weight during the season. And how you can keep up your energy and hopefully prevent getting the seasonal colds and flus. “
