Lots of Holiday fun! Follow me on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing!
Today’s Holiday project is Mason Jar Jack-o-Lanterns! An interesting and simple centerpiece for the table or to set out on the front porch, in a window or use as a nightlight.
Supplies:
Orange acrylic paint, mason jars (I found an inexpensive set of 12 at Wal-mart), battery operated tealights, green ribbon, black paint or stickers for faces
First, fill the bottom of the jar with orange acrylic paint. Place the lid on tightly and shake the paint around until it covers the entire inside of the jar. Take lid off and let dry overnight.
The next day, when the paint is completely dry, paint on your jack-o-lantern face. I do not have a steady hand for detail painting, so I used stickers!
Next, I measured and cut the green ribbon to fit around the jar lid. I glued those in place with a hot glue gun. I also measured a longer ribbon to tie around the neck of the jar. This gives it more of a finished look.
Last step is to place the battery operated tealights in each jar. Of course you could use actual candles as well, but you will have to leave the lid off then. These look cute during the day and glow nicely at night-time!
